Ocean Jasper is one of my personal all-time favorite crystals! Ocean Jasper is a rare mineral only found in one area on the globe, Madagascar. It can only be mined at low tide and it is a mineral growing in scarcity. There have only been eight veins of this chalcedony based mineral found of the Northern Coastal waters of Madagascar, and some of these veins have been completely mined out.
Ocean Jasper comes in many different colorations and can feature inclusions of blue chalcedony, pyrite, agate, and quartz. Ocean Jasper with orbicular patterns, ocean wave pattern, or druzy caverns are among rare formations of the stone. Ocean Jasper is known to foster joy and optimism, a positive attitude, and is a nurturing stone to our heart chakras.

Patterns with orbicular formations are among the most coveted. Patterns with "ocean wave" forms are also favored among collectors.
